New "X-Marks the Spot" Quilt pattern

I finally have the pattern written for my "X-Marks the Spot" quilt and growth chart!  It's such a lot of work to write out a pattern, but I'm very happy with this one.  My son loves his quilt and won't let me take it to display in any stores, so I'll be making at least one or two more to use as a store sample-- what will I do with the duplicates?  Maybe have another drawing...

  2. I am trying to cut out the fabric for the pirate quilt now...I just wanted to clarify something. It says in the pattern that for the hulls for the ships to cut 1/5" strips, and then 1.5" strips for the rest of the hull. 1/5" is incredibly small, even 1/2 inch hardly allows for a seam allowance...How did you make yours work? Any tips would be appreciated...Thanks!!
